Senate Passes Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)

The Senate today voted in favor of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would provide Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) invidividuals the same protections against discrimination currently provided to individuals in such protected classes as race or sex, with the proviso that the bill contains some exemptions for religious institutions, according to the Huffington Post.

Merit Systems Protection Board Overwhelmed

The Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), which purports to oversee the fairness of personnel actions involving federal employees, has been overwhelmed by the volume of appeals stemming from furloughs caused by the sequestration of federal funds, reports the Washington Post.
